I was a freshman in college when I first typed the words concept art into a search engine. As an art student I had only just learned this term for development artwork. I knew very little about films and video games. My hobbies were comicbooks, screen printing and radio.
Feng Zhu’s elegant website had me coming back again and again to look at the process pieces in the gallery. This was before the era of ubiquitous video streaming. Finding these galleries, even though there were only a few dozen images altogether, was a treasure trove. Even in those early days of the internet Feng was sharing his knowledge. The Feng Zhu Design School continues to offer tutorials in the same spirit of learning by watching the process.
